Release

A contract between a model and a photographer, stating that the photographer has permission to use the photos taken during a photo shoot. It is a legal document detailing the model's payment and rights of their photographs.

Showroom Modeling

Showroom models are generally hired during fashion week, for a few days or weeks at a time. They must fit into the samples the designer brings to the show so they can model them for potential buyers.

Specialty Agencies

These agencies represent talent for a wide variety of modeling fields including plus size, petite, or parts modeling.

Spokesmodel

A model that promotes a specific product at a tradeshow, convention or other promotional event. a spokesmodel is seen as a representative for the brand, and is often asked to demonstrate or speak publicly about the brand.

Stable

The roster of models represented by a modeling agency.

Stats

A slang term for the statistics of a model, which usually includes height, weight, measurements, hair color, and eye color.

Tear Sheet

A page from a published magazine or other printed media, which features a particular model. This can be put into a book with other tearsheets from the same model to be shown to potential clients.

Test Board

An agency's group of new and aspiring models. After some experience these models will move onto one of the agency's working boards.

Time for Prints (TFP)

This occurs when a model poses for a photographer and receives a pre-determined number of prints from the shoot, rather then a monetary payment.

Voucher

Also known as a billing form, a voucher is a printed form used by models to keep track of the hours they work, names of clients, job description, and pay rate. These forms are generally provided by an agency.

Working Board

An agency's working board generally contains models who maintain steady work in commercial fields such as catalog, advertising, and television.
